Czech my New Years resolutions’ out!
Sorry, for the pun in the headline, couldn’t resist 
I don’t want to bore you with posting all my goals for 2009 here, so I will only dot those down that are relevant to this blog. And in January 2010 you all can come back here and check how it went.
Actually I hope you will come back a little bit earlier and more then once a year! So why don’t you bookmark this blog, and/or subscribe to its updates for free by using the orange thingy in the top right corner?
But back to my goals for 2009 (I prefer to call them goals because that is something positive to work towards to, rather then something I HAVE to stick to).
You know, it is all psychological
1. Blogging and Perfectionism.
I should never have written How to write an unsuccessful blog , now I have to follow my own advice or people will start to say things like:
“Who sits in a glass house shouldn’t throw stones.”
It is not that I have no ideas what to write and I even know I could find the time when to write, BUT (isn’t there always a BUT?) But I have this problem that I get easily distracted. *Sigh* For example: I research something, and then I wonder wander from web site to web site looking for more information, getting sidetracked by new exciting discoveries. And because I am a perfectionist at heart I always want to make sure that all is researched as thoroughly as humanly possible, resulting in a nice increase of my personal knowledge, BUT no new blog post written, much less posted. So my goal regarding blogging for this year is:
To write at least 3 quality posts per week on my two today.com blogs (this and http://microstock.today.com ) and accepting that they don’t have to be perfect, just good.
2. Learn more Czech.
Actually we (hubby and I) have already made a start in getting from here to, lets say, a bit more sophisticated communication We subscribed at a language school! For four months we will have 2x/week Czech classes of 1.5h each, that should bring us somewhere! To be honest, we feel a bit scared, Czech is deemed to be one of the most difficult European languages to learn ;-(
So my/our goal regarding Czech for this year is:
Learn Czech good enough to be able to have a basic but meaningful conversation with the neighbours and to read and understand the daily newspaper.
3. Start to photograph/ document what I see and submit it.
Bearing in mind that photography and creating digital images for sale is one of my main income sources it is rather poor that I have until now only taken a few bad snapshots from Prague and surroundings. I also would like to improve/expand my model photography skills.
So my/our goal regarding Photography for this year is twofold:
Finding a professional photographer (model, fashion, portrait, pets, studio) to assist in exchange for “learning by doing”. Get moving and take some decent landscape/cityscape photos done to improve my own portfolio.

4. Charity
This one is the closest to my heart and the one I want to accomplish above all others. Not speaking good enough Czech seems to be a problem in getting involved with local charities. Blogging about charitable causes like I did with Web Charity helps to get the word about good causes out, but giving money and blogging is sometimes not enough. So I am looking for a charity that needs a volunteer that is willing to gets her hands dirty and allows me to help despite the fact that my Czech is very basic .
So my/our goal regarding Charity for this year is:
Finding and joining a charitable cause here in Prague where I can help practically, with my own hands and heart.
5.Blog News:
Just noticed that this blog reached PR2 in Google, I am so happy about this. I know, PR is not everything, but still it is nice to see some acknowledgement from Google. So last goal:
Maintaining and improving my shiny new Google Page Rank!
If these are only blog-related resolutions, I’m wondering how may others you have piled upon yourself! Don’t bite of more than you can chew, my dear
But these are certainly good goals to have, and I wish you all the best in getting them achieved.
p/s: I recently checked and I too have a PR2! Yay!! I exist in the googlesphere too!
Wow a post hospitelera - I had given up hope! 3x times a weak - well as we say in Australia - yeah right LOL And I definitly expect to see some more photos of Praha!
I want to learn more Chinese too, Good luck with it. BTW with the free shares just put the no in the ref thing nod 1d and number..try that if it doesn’t work then leave the number out.
I enrolled Hubby and when I put in 1d then number it didn’t work when I ust put the number then it worked. Good luck.
