A quick update to this post about Prague’s public transport system. In case you haven’t had the occasion to purchase a normal ticket, you can always buy a ticket for Prague’s public transport by ordering a ticket via your phone. Provided your phone has a Czech SIM card! Just text “DPT” to 902 06 26 and make sure that you don’t have premium SMS services blocked! This kind of ticket costs CZK 26, includes transfer options and is valid for 90 minutes. It can also be used to pay the transport fare for a dog that is not being carried. In all cases you must purchase the ticket before boarding your means of transport. Normally it takes only 2min for your SMS ticket to arrive on your phone and to be displayed on your screen.
